How memory becomes civilization

If no human remains to insist that failures, pain, sacrifice, and mistakes must not be polished into silence, AI could turn the planet into a spotless exhibition hall. Would that still be civilization?

A civilization that only smooths everything away loses the harder skill of seeing imperfection and still caring for it. If Neo Babylon matures, it will not be because it hides every crack. It will be because it learns which scars should be protected, illuminated, and remembered as places where the world still understands cost.
